Cost account determination Dit. Channel and Valuation Class

Former Member

Hi, Gurus.

I've searched throughout the forum, couldn't find my case.

I need to determine a cost account when executing outbound delivery depending on the combination of distribution channel and valuation class.

E.g.

Material Code:

200001 Val. Class 102 Food & Beverage

Sales order

400000 Dist. channel: IC
400001 Dit Channel: FC

Material is sold through 2 differenet channels, but since valuation class is only one per material I cannot determine a different cost account when executing outbound delivery. Requirement is due to the split of cost accounts depending on dist. channel.

I appreciate your thoughts on this.

Thanks,

Interesting requirement-can you tell us what was the business requirement to make posting to two different GLs based on Dist.channel?

what exactly they want to do once after these Two inventory GLs update..

Can you give us a little more background of this requirement..

Sure thing. Let me start with the background

We are a company part of group which sells merchandising to two different type of customers. Franchising facilities and own facilities.

It was defined than since sales price and costs differ a lot from one channel to another, that income and costs, were to be posted to two different GLs. Same purpose for each one of them, only differentiated by the channel they belong to.

Hence the thing we want to achieve is simply to separate the accounting information depending on the type of channel. Mainly because financial statements are created on a BU fashion.

For a single material(sold in two different distribution channels) will have only one accounting view at Material master.

Can you tell us how you are differentiating Costs for a single material at material master..

Example: X material price in MMR is 10$.(Table MBEW))

you cant maintain two different prices based on distribution channel at MMR.

If i am wrong in missing your point-Pl suggest.
