Decryption in SAP HANA

Hello experts,

We are getting files with sensitive data and some of the columns are encrypted. How can I decrypt in SAP HANA?

Hi Florian,

We are getting fixed width file from another system. They want to encrypt the files before they send us. Now they are asking what encryption algorithms are supported in HANA so that they can use HANA supported encryption.

Hi Nishith,

SAP HANA supports encryption of the data volume, log volume and backup files - data-at-rest - and data masking (SAP HANA 2.0 SPS 01).

Data in flow - between hosts, client, optional components, etc. is encrypted by default (TLS/SSL) in most situations.

Data in-memory on the SAP HANA server is not encrypted. Column encryption is not a native / built-in SAP HANA feature. However, nothing stops you from using the application encryption services
