Plant change after the production order has been created

Hello All,

we are using variant configuaration. once we create a sales order for configured material and then we go ahead with the planned and production order to produce the required material.

Business Scenario is : after the above process is finished, customer could ask to deliver from different plant. which means we will deliver from different city or different state. we are struck here, how to proceed. as the whole process is already started with the old plant in sales order.

please let me know incase you Need further inforamtion. suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Can't you tell your customer "Dear, you are unfortunately too late with this request, we already started the production..."

Or you keep calm and do a stock transfer from the plant that currently produces to the plant from which your customer wants to be delivered.

Or you start a new order for the other plant and finish this old order and keep it in stock for other customers.

OR you have not yet started physically with the production, then you can still cancel your process. Cancellation is usually done in the opposite sequence of the creation. if your creation sequence was 1 - 2 - 3 then the cancellation sequence is 3 - 2 - 1

Plenty options, the decision has to be done by your business people who know product and customer.

thanks for your suggestions.

if we do the stock Transfer between the plants, i thought about the same Option, but the cost and frieght charges whcih are to be charged from the other plant will not be recorded. and in sales order we still have the old plant in sales order flow.

i thought about changing the storage Location, as phani suggested even if we have shipping Point is changed, we will have to consider the charges and still we will have the old plant in sales order.

any other thoughts, please.

Just a thought-In this given case why cant we go with different shipping point (may be changed manually at VA02)..

But we need to think the other side effects too like Taxes,Freights etc..

Please correct me if wrong.
