Merging dimensions from different universes

Former Member

I have two different queries from different universes. The queries are from existing reports. I have merged two dimensions from these two queries. Now after merging, on pulling in a measure to the report table, the values are shown inflated and wrong. Please help me in finding where would be the mistake?

You may have to use calculation contexts while dealing with measures in case of merged dimensions. Please post some example so that we can work out accordingly.

There are duplicates even after merging two dimensions. There are no dimension through which duplicates can be avoided. In this case is calculation context the solution??

Hi Mahboob ,

Thanks for the reply. I will explain the issue elaborately in points. If not clear let me know, i will post recreating sample issue. Also pls share your email id to post details.

*There were two separate reports having common data.

*Measures from one of the report was asked to be inserted into another report.

*First report had one query and the second report had three queries. Both the report were using two different universes.

*So merged two common dimensions from all the three queries.

*After merging while the measures from one of the queries were dragged into the report table, the values seems to be inflated or wrong.

Kindly let me know the possible mistakes that would have been made.

Thanks,

Dinesh
