How can I load Data with Timestamp MM-DD-YYYY hh:mm:ss into SAP BusinessObjects Cloud (BO Cloud)

Hi everyone,

I am wondering how I can use IoT data within BO Cloud with datasets based on a standard timestamp, e.g.

MM-DD-YYYY hh:mm:ss. Is there any way to create a time dimension using this format?

thank you so much

Hi Stephen,

Were you able to resolve this?

Did you see this blog already?

Hi,

I was wondering why this issue has been closed as it is still very relevant. I have an oData interface with a field of type Edm.DateTime giving me data in following format: YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS (Y-m-d\TH:i:s) This is automatically converted to date (only) and I lose the time information. In an IoT scenario, I believe the date will not be sufficient.

Any ideas on how to solve this?

Thanks, Patrick

Hi Patrick,

This is a current limitation in SAP Analytics Cloud, however we're aware of it and already working on an enhacement, please have a look @ https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2598129

In addition to that you may also subsribe to this one here: https://influence.sap.com/sap/ino/#/idea/144681

It was closed because we never heard back from them.

We support a timestamp feature now (as of 2018.6):

  • The timestamp dimension can be inferred and supported after data is added to a new or existing model.
