BI 4.2 upgrade content

We are moving from windows 2008 BI 4.1 to windows 2012 BI 4.2 using new CMS database.

Now my query is which is the better approach to move content to new environment

1)Upgrade management Tool

2)Promotion Management

Please suggest me better approach to move the content.
