Migrating ERP to S/4HANA after populating my BW/4HANA

Hi All,

Here is the scenario:

Customer has SAP ERP ECC6 (Sybase DB) and a third party software. Let's assume the customer procures BW/4HANA and populates it with data coming from these 2 source systems. 2 years later the customer decides to upgrade from SAP ERP to S/4HANA.

Question:

After doing all of the work on BW/4HANA, do we have to do all the work again in connecting S/4HANA and building on BW/4HANA now that the old version - SAP ERP - is no longer in the picture?

I have been struggling to find an answer to this question so the community support would be greatly appreciated. Also, feel free to ask questions if the scenario or the question itself are not clear.

Hello

As BW/4 only allows ODP based Extraction from SAP Source Systems, S/4 comes with ODP based Extraction by default. If only S/4 is connected to the BW/4 System all Extractors should be compatible with the existing ones from ERP.
