No variable in workbook

Hi,

We encounter a problem in BW2004s with a workbook (3.x style). For a user no variables are coming up. In this situation all the data is selected. I can't find anything with authorization trace.

But if I give the user SAP_ALL, SAP_NEW. The 2 of the workbook variables are coming up.

We build up the workbook that it comes up without any variables. After refreshing the workbook the variables should appear.

Does anybody knows the solution?

Regards,

Jos.

Hi Jos.

To run 3.x Workbooks and Queries withing the Old front-end once having updgraded to BI7 backend we have found that users require activity assigned 03 to S_BDS_D

BC-SRV-KPR-BDS: Authorizations for Accessing Documents S_BDS_D

Without this we did not recieve any 'Ready for Input' Variables and when queries/workbooks contained Mandatory Variables (Without a Default Value) it would fail saying a variable parameter was missing.

We are on SP11 and this has fixed the issue.

Thanks

Tom

HI,

try going to the Web Template properties and Check the Force Variable Screen Option.

Have you tried using the new rsecadmin and the execute as user there? The log is very good for showing problems with auths.

Cheers,

Yes the check is activated.

The strange thing is that after refreshing the workbook. It ignores the variables and selects everything.

There is a note for the ignoring of the variables: 1003344. We didn't implement it yet but it might work.

The variable entry screen does not appear when there are no mandatory entry fields.

This is mainly web behaviour, but it might give you hints where to look.
