Former Member

I'm new to the platform and following the online courses to work on SAP Web IDE. In order to do that, I need to connect to Demo System ES4 but it seems like i don't have the permission as long as I can't start a discussion with a reply.

Can anyone help me out please?

Thanks in advance!

Hi All,

Checklist before you integrate demo services available in ES4 into your SAP Web IDE -

  1. You should have a valid logon to ES4.
This includes a successful login only. Do not expect create authorization of your own oData services in ES4. For some reason create authorization has been deprecated in ES4. But we can make use of the services already available.
  2. You must configure the ES4 system to SAP Web IDE with the following connectivity parameters(please refer the image).

  3. You must see a successful connection message once clicked on "Check Connection" button.

  4. You must see ES4 as a drop down option in "Service Catalog" while setting up a project under "Data Connection" tab.

  5. You should now see all the available services of ES4.

  6. Now select a service with "Running" status.
There are services available with "Service is unavailable" status. Please avoid those.

  7. Once your project setup is completed, select your mockServer.html and click on Run in the menu bar. Then select Run as and SAP Fiori Launchpad Sandbox.

  8. Now you will be prompted to enter your credentials. Please enter your ES4 login credentials.

  9. Voila! You are all done to test your application.
You can check the navigation available in service catalog "Diagram" or from the "metadata.xml" under "localService" folder in your application.

Guys,

ES4 is being retired. Guess it is a little tired - too much exercises there 😛

Take a look at this answer:

Hi, I have the same issue.
I can access and logon to https://sapes4.sapdevcenter.com/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui , the checking connection to 'ES4' is succesfull in SAP Cloud Platform Cockpit, but when I try to run my application, I have message about the authentication required "https://webide-p1942186043trial.dispatcher.hanatrial.ondemand.com/ requires a username and password". I try to logon with my login (e-main) or p1942186043 - but I get this message again and again.
Could you help me? What I do wrong?

As a new SAP user, I have a similar problem. I was looking to try OData with the SAP Gateway demo system, as per https://archive.sap.com/documents/docs/DOC-31221, but can't logon.

Thanks

Hi Michal, thanks for your answer.

I was using this link https://sapes4.sapdevcenter.com/ so far but somehow (sorry i'm a beginner) I had to reset my password each time i ran my app. And now I can't log on anymore due to too many attempts.

When I try the following link, Sign up and get started with the SAP Gateway – Demo Consumption System , again same problem:

"We're sorry, but you're attempting to access SCN content that was not migrated to the new SAP Community experience."

Can you please guide me the way to become a SCN member as it seems to be the problem that blocks me?

Thanks in advance!

But if you're able to write here then you have an SCN user..
