Hi All,

We have a requirement to connect to S4 Hana using SAP Cloud Platform Integration, Is it really mandatory to use SCC(SAP Cloud Platform Cloud Connector) with IDoc receiver adapter?

Hi SaiSuraj

(I'm assuming in the following that your S/4HANA system is on-premise.)

No, Cloud Connector is not mandatory, but you do need a secure way to reach your on-premise system from the cloud. Your options are either a reverse proxy setup or the Cloud Connector. Of the two, I think you'll find the Cloud Connector very easy to set up and, and it integrates well into SAP Cloud Platform.

Hi Morten

Thanks for the response

As per my knowledge, while configuring receiver we need to select Proxy type as On-premise. If it is Reverse Proxy/Web Dispatcher what should we choose?

Thanks,

Hi SaiSuraj

In that case, the proxy type is "Internet".

Hi Morten,

Please correct if I am wrong

As per my understanding we do not have to open the port if we are using SCC, but if we are using web dispatcher(reverse proxy) we have to open the port.

Is my understanding correct

Thanks in Advance

Hi SaiSuraj

Your understanding is correct. In the reverse proxy scenario, ports will need to be opened.

If your firewall rejects outbound connections from inside your network, you will need to allow connections from the SCC host to SAP Cloud Platform.
