Java System copy

Hello All,

I have this question about performing the homogenous system copy for a Java based system. We need to refresh our EP6.0 Staging system from production system. We will be following the standard Java export/import process for the refresh strategy. Now my question is since we already have Java App servers installed for EP Staging system, once the refresh is complete, does the Java app server connect automatically or are we required to uninstall and reinstall them? For ABAP systems, the app servers would automatically connect without we doing any post processing.

Please let me know the process to handle Java app servers issue when refreshing any environment. We plan to perform it this weekend.

Thanks,

Fahad

    Hi Fahad Uddin,

When we are performing system copy for Java based systems, you need to export both ABAPJAVA, if your system is central system(NW2004s) you need to export the central system, it includes the JAVAABAP. when you exported ABAP you will get only JAVA schema but not the Java content. when you exported the JAVA it will export all properties files get exported.

    reward me if it helpful.

    Thanks,

    Praveen.

    Praveen,

We will be doing both export and import of java database. But my questions is not that. I want to know if we already had Java application servers (Java dialog instances) for the target system, do we need to reinstall them after the refresh from source system or they would automatically connect?

    Thanks,

    Fahad
