Excel formula in EPM report


I have a dynamic report consisted of 100 lines which specifically selected in report. Now I need insert a line in between 50 lines for totalling. EPM local member formula works fine. But customer wants to know why can't we use excel formula than local member.What are the benefit of using local member formula in such case.

    You can insert Excel formulas directly in the cells only for static report - read: https://blogs.sap.com/2013/03/01/static-report-in-bpc-nw-10/

    If you change members in row or column axis then Excel formulas will be removed. The line with the local member will be present if it's positioned to some existing report member.
