Groupware integration: both Lotus Notes and MS Outlook

Former Member

Hi all,

I am facing a simple yet crucial question: is it possible to setup groupware integration for both Lotus Notes and MS Outlook within the same system landscape? If so, how can we make sure that the correct groupware is called when a certain user or BP has a new activity or task created, for instance?

Thanks in advance,

Joost

Hallo Joost,

I am not sure if we can go for the two groupware servers. It might be possible. You need to make filter settings in the Middleware Objects so that you can configure the objects for transport.

Check the Middleware objects. Check the Groupware adapter Connectors, You have one for each of the groupware server.

When you define for each Mobile client / user a site then he will be recieving the contact/Activity through his Groupware.

Check this link for more info.

Hi Prem,

Thanks for your information. To be more specifically, we need to have two groupware connectors, one for Lotus Notes, and one for Outlook, both on the same system and preferably with server synchronization (using the Mapbox). The question is thus whether this is possible and if anyone has had experience with this...

Hi Joost

This would require some work amongst others:

You need two sites (Typw GWA_01). And you need to make the Replication Object BUS_TRANS_MSG intelligent so you can send the activities to the right Groupware Adapter site e.g based on email-adress or what you want.

You will also need to "rename" the Outbound ISP* queues e.g NOTES_ISP and OUTLOOK_ISP so the connectors do not try to empty each other queues when they log-on to th CRM system. It should be possible to configure the connectors so they only log on to the specified queues.

Hi Joost,

As per my knowledge goes, it is possible to integrate two groupware servers with SAP simultaneously.

I think, I have a very basic document on groupware integration architecture. Please let me know, if you need it. But it is not a very technical document, but a good document for concept of proof.

Hi Gregor Wolf,

If you were following this forum closely then, you should have been observerd that I am always against circulating SAP offcial documents. I kept on screaming not to circulate any official documents. This particula document is solely prepared by me for my personal use.
