Credit Limit

Hi all!

I would like to know what can i do? Finance usually takes several days or even one week to act on their requests to create a new customer master as The credit limit determination process is time-consuming.

Without a customer master in the SAP system, the salespeople cannot create the required inquiry, quotation or sales order. This is particularly problematic for urgent quotations.

May I ask if it is right to create a customer master file first, and review/unblock credit limit till the stage before delivery. And once the finance team has decided on the credit limit, the sales team can notify for the delivery of the sales order?

Different ways are there to achieve this. You can set Delivery Block at sale order header level which can then be released by authorized person. In standard, SAP has given a provision such that you can set some minimum credit limit for newly created customers, in OB45 where you have a field to maintain this. Explore this option. But needless to mention, your team has to create customer master first

Use one-time customer if you don't want to / can't wait for the "real" customer account. Of course, the features specific to the "real" account (such as customer-specific pricing conditions) won't be available but at least you'll be able to enter a quotation. And then when you create an order with reference to that quotation - enter the "real" Sold-to number.

But this question is more for your management than SCN IMHO. If you're just a user, you won't be able to configure one-time customer if it doesn't exist already. Go to the management with this.
