Hello,

I want to try MS Visual Studio, and I wonder which version works with B1 9.2?

I have install Visual Studio Express 2013 and when I install SAP Visual Studio I get the message "Installation Microsoft Visual Studio not found. SAP Business One Studio for Microsoft Visual Studio will not be installed"

I have seen different tutorial like this one

https://archive.sap.com/discussions/thread/3805240

none works for me.

1) Where can I find THE installation procedure?

2) Can we still buy Visual Studio 2013 (or 2015)? If yes what version works.

Thank you

Hi Patrice,

As I know, the last version of B1 studio supports MS 2012 and MS 2013.

I use VS 2015 community version and I had installed B1 studio following the steps provided on thread of you mentioned (https://archive.sap.com/discussions/thread/3805240).

What's error you got when you follow the steps provided by Maykol?

Hope it helps.

Kind Regards,

Hi Patrice,

Ok, but if you want you can find an older release of visual studio on visualstudio.com, but you need have a valid microsoft account to download it. There is a free kind of account available (Dev Essentials).

Hi,

Express Editions of VS is not supported.
All the rest are supported.

If you need to try, you can always install the community edition, which is free.

Thank you for your answer.

I understood that the VS community edition is the same as the Express edition of VS.

Hi Patriece,

No they are not the same.
Express editions does not supports plugins, while community edition supports plugins.
B1Studio for Visual Studio is a plugin.

Edy

Hello everybody,

I have installed Visual Studio 2017 Community edition and it does not work.

I still have the message telling it cannot find Visual Studio

Here is the Regedit as I changed it before installing.

Does anybody has an idea why it does not find it?

Thank you in advance

Patrice

Hello everybody,

I did download Visual Studio 2015 community.

So I confirm that installing Visual Studio 2015 community works and not Visual Studio 2017 community.

Thank you for your help

Hello,

My last concern was that it was not possible to launch Visual studio from Business One.

I did not find why....

I also tried

I got

even if VS was running.

I found at least, one solution, so for those that it can help. To "Edit active form in SAP Business One for Microsoft Visual Studio" you need to have :

- A form open in Business One
- Visual Studio running
- A SAP Business One project open (even an empty one) in MS Visual Studio
