BEx Browser

Hello,

I have a question regarding BEx Browser.

Following Requirement:

a user shall have the possibility in the BEx Folder menu, to create now Folders within one Role Folder to organize queries. This child folder shall have the same authorisation as the parent folder. I understand, that this can usually be done in the administrator workbench, however, this user shall not have access to the administrator workbench. Can this requirement be fulfilled by using the BEx Browser? And: will the created folders in the BEx Browsers also be seen by other users, who have access to the parent folder?

Hello Elisabeth,

Having full authorization to a Role structure you may create folders and subfolders without any problem also using BEx Browser. These changes will be available for the other users of this Role in BEx Browser and also in Open Dialogs of Query Designer or Analyzer. This works exactly as you want.

But please note, that BEx Browser does not exist in BI 2004s anymore, so this is only relevant for BW 3.x
