is there any configuration to always lock the sold to once the order is saved except by custom code?

I'm also quite confused by the question... Sold-to is already "locked" as soon as the order is created. What is the issue exactly?

If you meant screen field KUAGV-KUNNR and not the sold-to party in GVS_TC_DATA-REC-PARTNER, at least in my sandbox, the first field is editable after order save, unless some specific conditions are met. If you wish to understand which factors influence the field in a standard system - refer to 208245 - Availability of fields in sales orders. Another way to influence the field to be editable or not, is via custom code in mv45afzz (userexit_field_modification). None of these is controlled directly by standard configuration, unless you count things like mandatory reference to inquiry/quotation when creating an order or automatic delivery creation.

What you meant by 'Lock' the sold-to-party ?

Did you mean that sold-to-party' has to grayed out and system should not allow be change through t.code : VA02.

If yes, it is the exsiting system behavior and we could change only the ship-to not sold-to through t-code VA02.
