Can someone tell why we define Alert categories and alert rules...

Hi,

we define those rules so that not all alerts will raise an alert

we can specify that only specific errors will invoke an alert

for example only mapping errors

in real time in which situations we can keep alerts...

Hi,

You can dvide your errors on the Application/validation error and system error.

You can keep Alert rules for system errors.

For application errors you can raise the alerts using BPM.
