HANA Express 2.0 startup options

Hi,

I have been using the Express 2.0 VM to create a small demo application. The application was built using HDI containers and a DB. On VM startup the DB is running but I could not find a way to start the js and HTML HDI containers automatically. How do I specify which applications (containers) should be start at VM boot?

Also, when launching the VM, I will not need some of the tools to start automatically (the WEB IDE and cockpit for example). What can be safely disabled and how is that done?

    Hello Michael,

Does applications stop also whenever you suspend the VM?

As I observed, if I suspend the VM (using VM workstation Player) when HDB is running, it keeps running whenever I run the VM next time.

I am not sure about the case whenever shutdown takes place.

XSA applications should be set to start automatically with the HANA DB. You can set a single application to not start by using the command xs stop <app/service name>. Stopped services don't start on system startup but can be started manually at any time using xs start <app/service name>. Its quite normal to stop services you aren't using until you need them.
