The automated way to do this would be to connect to the SLD, select the company, click edit and select "Use Specified Database User". This will create a user and setup the required persmission, and all other connection through b1 will use that sql user.

If you wish to make it manually then create a new user (disable that it needs to change password, disable that the password will expire (alter user disable password lifetime)). Then read the B1 SystemGuide from the B1 Patch level in the documentation directory. At the end of the document all the required object permissions are listed. Check the sections that tells you to not use SYSTEM as the B1 main sql user and you will find what permissions are required.

However this might not be what you want if you simply wish that an external software is restricted to particular schema. In that case, the B1 document will still show you to set the object permissions. You can set only the B1 schema and you should be good to go.
