Hi guys

I have a crosstab based on a BO universe where it has a set of columns for table names and some columns for flags which say Y or N based on the state of the table- fully loaded/partially loaded.

I want to apply some conditional formatting to show a green box when the load flag is 'Y' and red box when its 'N'...

How do I do that?

Is there any other visualization component to show the status of the data loads in place of scorecards??

Hi, In my Opinion using universe you can not define conditional formatting because cross tab conditional formatting options inherit from bex alerts.

Not sure if some one can give better suggestions...But incase if your table list is not very huge and dyanmic then i have an option to call colours or alerts for the data.

Hi,

There is no option to do conditional formatting using Universe in crosstab. Instead of that I like to suggest you to use Scorecard component.

Please refer the below URL,

How do I call alerts or colours to the data? Sorry I am new to Design studio..

Hi,

with the Universe as a data source, there is nothing in core Design Studio, because the crosstob is using the Exceptions from a Bex query.

In case you are interested, feel free to look at our Extensions, which does provide a table with advanced conditional formatting capabilities and that data source independent.

Since my table dos not have any 'Measure' values, I am not sure if the scorecards will work

Hi Nutty, Then where do you want to call alerts or conditional formmating?

My data goes like this

table name Run Failed

table1 Y N

table 2 N Y

I want to set the colour alerts on my flags (Run/failed)... Is that possible??

In cross tab i dont think its possible with universe however i have an idea to achieve this however solution is not very straight forward. You can try below steps.

1.create drop down -1st drop down to display run for table 1

DROPDOWN_1.setItems(DS_1.getMemberList("Run dimension", MemberPresentation.EXTERNAL_KEY, MemberDisplay.TEXT, 1));

2.create drop down -2nd drop down to display failed for table 1

DROPDOWN_2.setItems(DS_1.getMemberList("failed dimension", MemberPresentation.EXTERNAL_KEY, MemberDisplay.TEXT, 1));

3.create drop down -3rd drop down to display run for table 2

DROPDOWN_3.setItems(DS_1.getMemberList("Run dimension", MemberPresentation.EXTERNAL_KEY, MemberDisplay.TEXT, 1));

4.create drop down -4th drop down to display failed for table 2

DROPDOWN_4.setItems(DS_1.getMemberList("failed dimension", MemberPresentation.EXTERNAL_KEY, MemberDisplay.TEXT, 1));

5.Create text boxes and assign data binding technique to assign data for table name, run, failed values.

6.create two images/arrows, red and green arrows and set the status to false.

7.Go to start up script and write the below logic.

if (DROPDOWN_1.getSelectedValue()=="Y")

{IMAGE_1.setvisible(true);{IMAGE_2.setvisible(false);}

else if (DROPDOWN_1.getSelectedValue()=="N")

{IMAGE_2.setvisible(true);

IMAGE_1.setvisible(false);

}

Continue this with other drop down's and image's, at least from my point this is the solution for universe source with out keyfigures. Also ensure all dropdown visibility status should be flase.

Feel free to let me know if you need any help or if you want me to replicate it for you from my end :)

Thanks Lakshmikanth!

looks really technical to me...

I am still learning design studio so don't know how long it will take me to create this.... any help from you will be greatly appreciated.. would love to know how you learnt Design studio using BI universes as I find it really hard to find any useful links relating to creating apps using BI universes...

thanks
