Hi Gobi,
To convert the planned order to prodn order, u procurement type has to be X, then based on the source list/Quota maintained the planned order will be converted to prodn order for internal prodn or purchase reqn in the case of External purchase.
Reward if u find this helpful.

Hi,
As one of the person said in MRP you maintain the procurement type as X.
Now your problem is how to know how much can be inhouse and how much at sub contract.
Is your constrain is your subcontractor capacity or in house capacity?
If it is your in house capacity , while converting planned order to production order do the capacity checking if you found the capacity is in adiquate reduce to suit the requirement and create remaing as sub contracting order.
Here you need to do some exercise, before converting planned order to production order it self you can check the work center loads.
If you found the work center is over loaded try to reduce the planned odere quantities and check.
One more thing is in MRP try to give lot size , so the number of planeed orders will get created. Based on the work center loads you can conver planeed order either to production order or subcontracting order.
Mainly you should look for wokcenters capcityies checking and necessary leveling.
Hope this has given some clarity to your requirement . Pl.reply as this will help us.
Regards
Venkat
