Hi Egly--
You can follow these steps --
1) In excel menu Tools->macro
2) Enter the macro name say SAPBEXonRefresh
3) click 'create', will go to visual basic editor
4) To display '#' as '', paste the following code
Sub SAPBEXonRefresh(queryID As String, resultArea As Range)
Dim c As Range
For Each c In resultArea.Cells
If c.Value = "#" Then c.Value = "0" (if want '0' or ' ' space)
Next c
End Sub
5) Close the editor and click on refresh again.
This has worked me ...
Hope finally this helps,
Regards,
vishwa.

Hi Egly--
I hope for Numc we can't do it..
For Char we can acheive thru various routines.

if characteristic is numc ' ' is 0 (only chars from 0 to 9 are alowed). Add alpha conversion to your caracteristic definition
