Displaying user-defined fields as Characteristics in IM Drill-down rpts

Hi,

I extended the table IMPR with some custom fileds. Now I need to display these fields into certain standard SAP Investment Mangement reports like 121PLANBUDG(S_ALR_87012813), 122BUDGPR(S_ALR_87012814) etc.

My understanding is that the report use the structure RIPASP.

I added the fields in the structure CI_RIPASP_MDC in RIPASP, but the custom fields are not displaying in the characterestics list of the reports.

Has anyone done something like this or could you please provide me with some guidance on how to tackle this. I don't have much experience on doing these kind of Financial reports.

that talks about characteristics. But, it states "The systems proposes characteristics depending on settings made in the field catalog (see Customizing)"

Does anyone know which all transactions in Customizing allows us to add the characteristics to the field catalog?
