Request failed during Activation

Hi All,

Request failed during Activation for ODS 09 while running INIT W/O Data tarnsfer

The Error message while activating ODS is "Request(360.426) has not or not correctly been updated Please edit"

Tried to manually push the data from PSA for the SID 360.426, but gave a message "SID 360.426 is smaller than Rollup SID *26A" No request posting.

I see that the daily delta from 09 is loading only to PSA since 20.09.2006.

FYI the requests till 04th November are compressed.

All the delta's are availble in PSA.

Can some one suggest.

Thanks in Advance. Valuable answers will be rewarded.

Srinivas

Hi,

Try to push the requests from the PSA starting from the oldest one to the ODS. It won't let you activate a request that is more current than a older request and that older request is not in the ODS. The other option you have is to mark the older requests red so that they'll be ignored, but you would run the risk of losing the delta changes. If you know the data that is in those requests, you could go ahead and do a selective pull to the ODS, but that's risky. So suggest you identify the older requests and start pushing them to the ODS.

Cheers,

Kedar

Hi Kedar,

Thanks for the input. I forgot to update in my post that thr init request goes to a Infocube and to ODS.

Will it work if I start deactivating the aggregates for the cube and then try pushing these requests manually from PSA?

Please sugegst.

Thanks

Hi,

Would be better to deactivate the aggregates and then once all the data is in order reactivate and refill them. For the cube, the init and everything else won't have any problems. You'll face the problems in the ODS only. So, your init request should be successful for the cube. So basically if the deltas are needed to be updated to the cube as well, then it's not necessary to deactivate the aggregates, but deactivating them would speed up the data load process and once done you can bring them back online.

Thanks Kedar.

Yes you are right that ODS only will have problems in activating the INIT request. But the old deltas that were loaded to "PSA only" should be updated both into ODS and Cube as well.

I do this now. Please suggest whether am going in right path.

Delete the failed INIT request from ODS and CUBE.

Delete the INIIT flag

Deactivate the Aggregates

Push the deltas Manually from PSA

Activate the ODS

Activate and Fill the Agregates

Run INIT w/o Data transfer Again

Activate the ODS request.

Thanks in Advance,

Srinivas
