Hanging Browser when saving files from File system repository

Hi all

I was just wondering if anybody has seen this issue before?

We have a EP6 SP17 portal with a file system repository. I have set up a km navigation Iview so users can launch content such as HR templates etc.

The functionality works as following for the majority of users:

select the document

A new window opens with a prompt to save or open.

Click save - it saves, click open - it opens the document.

Some users are reporting that when they select the document their IE browser either hangs or nothing happens.

It seems to work ok on the majority of pc's and users but anybody seen this before and point me in the right direction.

It's obviously something local to the PC maybe?

Hi,

does this happen for all file-types? And is it reproducable on one PC for one filetype? If so, you could try to change the following setting in the file explorer: Go to 'tools' -> 'Folder Options' -> 'File Types' and choose the affected file-type. Click on 'advanced'. Then choose 'open' from the list. Try to change the option 'Browse in same wndow'.

By the way: is your file-system-repository set to 'read only'? In a clustered environment, you should do so
