Hi, All
My name is Lim. Now, I try to appy support package for Solution Manager 4.0.
The first time I put 17 packages in my queue. Then, it's stuck. (I use transaction SM50, SM66 and SM37 to check it) So, I end up reinstall the whole thing.
I don't know that it is really stuck or it take long time. Now, I apply the SAP_BASIS version 7 with CRTs. (it took about 2 hour to run already)
Does anyone have any idea?
regard,
Lim.
Hi,
Lim 17 sp's kan take quite some time. Also check the note for queu defintions esspecialy when you aply a hole bunch..... some times there are note that say that you need to define ques in smaller parts because 1 or 2 sp's do not work when apllied to gether.

Hi Sri,
I have to accept that I'm very newbie for SAP, but I was assign to install and apply support packages for Solution Manager 4.0. Therefor, I have to search everywhere to find how to solve my problem. To be truthful, I don't know how to write a blog, but if you explain more. I'll be more happy to share what I know.
Best Regard,
Lim

The processes of apply support packages for Solution Manager 4.0 were hung.
Problem found: I don't have enough background process.
Solution: Assign more background process to the system using transaction RZ10 to edit instance profile and then restart.
PS. Thank you Rob Ericsson.

Hi Lim,
Thanks for sharing the inputs with us. There are qute a few posts where Solman is flouted to be used for applying support Packs for satellite systems as well. Can you post your inputs, observations if any in this space as a few are watching closely to start implement this functionality of applying suport packs via solman.
We would love to see a Blog aswell on this space if u have some time for us...:))

Sri
Hi Lando,
Thank you for answer my question:). I've just got an answer from Rob Ericsson. He faced the same problem as mine and found the answer himselft. Then he posted it here somewhere. The problem was I have not enough background process. After, I increase the background process, so I can apply support package without hangging.
Best regard,
Lim
