Error: Status Change from Started to Selected not allowed

Greetings,

We have a customised workflow for Travel request. In this workflow,

sometimes when the agent takes action, the workflow does not proceed to

next step but it disappears from the agent’s inbox. When we checked the

SWIA workflow log, it gives the following error

"Status change from STARTED to SELECTED is not allowed/possible".

This workflow was working fine before we migrate to ECC 6.0, but after

migration to ECC 6.0, it is giving this error. We are also using the

standard function module, SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW. The same error happens for our other workflows intermittently. We are puzzled to know what is going wrong in the worklow logic?

Looking for your advice, as it affects many users intermittently.

We would definitely reward points for your reply that solves our problem.

Hi Sundar,

I assume the message is for the step following the one just executed and it's for the same user?

Check whether it happens to the same users, and do a SU53 after this happens - could be authorization. May even be structural auths in which case it wouldn't always be the same users. The status change is to reserve a work item which happens just before execution. As it's upgrade related I'd suggest logging it with OSS since it is not one of your usual "done something obvious wrong" error messages.
