HI there,
I was wondering if the material master in S/4 HANA Enterprise Management has another data model.
So, is there MARA; MARC, MARD, MBEW, etc. or is there an optimized data model with other tables?
And if there is a new data model: are the "old" Material Master tables still there and will be filled and updated synchroniously?
Can someone explain this to me?
Thanks,
Andrzej
Hi Andrzej,
The idea of simplification is to remove indices and aggregates.
So, MARA/MARC/MARD will remain and the fields like Unrestricted qty(LABST) in MARD for example will be calculated on-the fly.
All the aggregates/indices tables are eliminated and replaced by (CDS) views.
But the original master data tables remain intact- MARA, MARC, MBEW, MARD & will have entries created when you create a material or stock.
The transaction tables like MSEG/MKPF still remain, but MATDOC will eventually replace them.
The target architecture is MATDOC remains the single table for MSEG+MKPF.
I hope this helps.
Regards
Raghu.

Hi Andrzej
My understanding is Material master is optimized in the form that tables (MARA,MARC, MARD, MBEW etc.) are available as VIEW on underlying material table. You can still use/call these tables in traditional way and can see data in it but instead of table it will act as view.
Thanks
Vibhor.
