Prepare.bat error!!!!!

HI All

I am currently trying to upgrade our 46C SAP system to ECC 2005 and I am have problems straight away - but I am not sure if it is me!!!

I have copied the master DVD to a drive on our 46C server and when I run the prepare.bat file I get the following error:

U:\master\prepare.js(44, 3) WshShell.Exec: The system cannot find the file specified

What am I missing?

Hi Phil,

In some cases this error occurs due to the <sid>adm user not being able to find the kernel, check that the user has the path settings to the kernel directory in the environment settings and run prepare again if a change.

Sometimes the error is due to the incorrect CD, what is the number in the LABEL.ASC file of the installation media? Is it "51031683_2 NW 2004s SR1 Java Upgrade for all OS"?

You can find 51031683_2 at the following location:

http://service.sap.com -> Software Download -> Search for all Categories -> "Java Upgrade".

I actually managed to solve this.

Basically the path to the disp+work.exe files were not set in the environment variables!!
