Hello community,

I'm trying to activate history requirement for classes. I've set control of history requirement to "From creation" in Customizing (OS68), for relevant classes (200 & 300).

Trying to create a new class the system asks for a change number. So far so good. But I can change or even delete a class without change number. Only changing characteristics within a class is requiring a change number.

Am I missing something or is this simply not in scope of history requirement for classes?

best regards and thanks in advance

Christian

Christian Vincon,

Please check you may have selected "history requirement active" only , instead of that please select " from create". see definition below for all three.

Control of history requirement: From change
Activates the history requirement for objects with the selected type. If you select this option, a change number for the objects with the selected type becomes a required entry, if you change the object. Creating one of these objects is, however, possible without a change number.
Control of history requirement: From creation
Activates the history requirement for objects with the selected type. If you select this option, a change number for the objects with the selected type is required from the start. When creating or changing, you always have to enter a change number.
Control of history requirement: Active
De-activates the history requirement for objects with the selected type. If you select this option, a change number becomes a required entry whenever you create or change an object with this type with a change number. As long as you create or change an object without a change number, the change number is not a required entry.

You are able to delete classes which are being created long back when history requirement was not active and that's why you do not need to make any entry in ECM for those. But when you try to create a new class it will ask you to enter ECM as now history requirement is active for all new objects.

Hope this explanation may help you.

Thanks

Ritesh
