Hi sdners
what is datasource relica
and how to enable that while transoprting
rajaram
Hi Raja:
To add from the above..
Most of the client do the manual replicatation oF datasources in BW side.
inorder to avaoid this(manual intervention), you can use transport connection tool.
Inorder to use that, go to transport connection in RSA1 and when collecting your objects, make sure you collect "data source replica", which will automatically replicate the data sources.

hi ram,
The DS replica is nothing but getting structure image of the R/3 source system to BW .when we want to extract data from R/3 we need to have it's structure in BW ,to match the fields so that we can extract data with out any mismatch fields and with the help of Transfer rules the Source system and BW system will be linked in between Transfer structure and Communication structure...
i think it helps u

the definition of the datasource and its transfer structure is first created in the source system and these details are not automatically known to the BW system..
only when u replicate datasources..from that source system..in BW,BW receives new and updated datasource definitions from that source system..
do replication..by rsa1->source systems, right click on selected source system and click on 'replicate datasources'..
replication of datasources is not done in the transport.
it is done after transport of datasource definitions..
(can be done before in the dev system..but is done later..in the QA prod BW systems..i mean after successful transport of datasoure def to all R/3 systems)
