RSAR 671 - Source system release is not the same as local information 620

Hi!

When I try to create a source system to connect one of our systems to our BI7 system I get this error everytime I do an activation or even restore:

Source system release is not the same as local information 620 RSAR 671

Does anyone have encountered this?

Hi..

I havent worked on BI 7.0 but on searching for RSAR 671..in service.sap.com..it gives a single note on the search..text sent below..looks relevant to ur issue..

Summary

Symptom

After you upgrade a system, there is no information to tell you that the BW system has not yet been informed about the upgrade of the source system. As a result, you do not activate the source system, and new content is not available for this system.

Reason and Prerequisites

This problem is caused by a program error.

Solution

SAP NetWeaver 2004s BI

Import Support Package 08 for SAP NetWeaver 2004s BI (BI Patch 08 or SAPKW70008) into your BI system. The Support Package is available when Note 0872280 "SAPBINews BI 7.0 Support Package 08", which describes this Support Package in more detail, is released for customers.

In urgent cases you can use the correction instructions.

To provide information in advance, the note mentioned above may be released before the Support Package is available. In this case, however, the short text of the note still contains the words "preliminary version".

Thanks for your prompt reply!

However, I forgot to mention also that I saw this note too. And unfortunately, The BI 7 system we have has already support pack 9. So, it has the newest support package.
