-> brbackup/brrestore

-> sapdba/brtols (depending on your rlz)

-> see pdf @ sapnet -> alias: systemmanagement -> oracle dba

-> check sapnote 43.399...

Rohit,

In backup 2 types cold and Hot.

Shutdown DB Copy all physical files and restote it to required location wich is a cold backup.

Hotbackup carefull DB shd be in archive mode.bring all tablespaces in backup mode and copy datafiles and archive log files.

This is at OS and DB level.

With SAP tools like BRTOOLS u can do these things.Execute DB13 u will see all options.If u have tape u need to config it .For details u can look in to Oracle Db guide in service.sap.com or help.sap.com

Rohit,

For ur plan shutdown all sap and oracle services.

Backup complete folder by name oracle This folders will be in installed drive like .c:/oracle/oradata/<SID>/.....

I think u can easily find out instaleld dirs.Backup completely.folders names will be SAPDATA1,SAPDATA2 etc .backup complete folder.

reinstall NT (if necessary) and Oracle (if necessary)

reinstall SAP app server from the kernel CD .

oracle software will be in oracle_home sap in /usr/sap or mentioned path .

Check it.

reinstall sap db server with database exists options OR quit program when "Creating database" message appears, Out of these two choose one because you don't need to recreate the database.Down all services restrore database reboot machine.

Should work for u

I am asking for u take complete backup of sap and oracle folders because this will contain all profiles files and many files.

General backup complete sap and oracle located folders.

Restoring means copy and paste the backed up folders.Dont paste sap folder if u reinstalled sap kernel.
