Capturing Standards in SAP PM

We are in midst of configuring SAP PM at our site.

The users have a legacy app that records calibrations on Test/Measuring instruments like gauges and calibers they use

In their current system, it makes reference to standards as defined By Bureau of Measurements and Standards in DC. Each part/parts potentially has a standard defined for it

Where can these standards be stored/defined in SAP on the equipment record?

When they do a scheduled calibration, they refer to the standard and also then follow work procedures that take,as an example,average of 5 readings high /low, and if off, adjust.

We have inspection plan defined from the tasklist used but only use qualitative characteristics for the Master Inspection Characteristics there right now.

Not sure if these standards can be put on equipment records, or created as quantitative characteristics, or need measuring units/documents defined or what.

Any guidance would be appreciated
