ALE IDOC's VS XI

Hi,

I have a scenario where I have to convince a client to move to XI instead of using ALE IDOCS which he is currently using.

Can anybody please tell me what are the advantages of using XI instead of just ALE IDOCs between SAP and Non SAP systems??

Regards,

Puneet

    Hi Puneet,

normally I would say: Never change a running system.

But: If you use XI, you are more in the SOA philosophie.

What is, when your customer is changing one of the backend systems?

With XI you are more flexible!

BTW: Monitoring with XI is also beneficial.

    Regards Mario

    hi,

have a look at my book:

<a href="/people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2006/10/11/xi-new-book-mastering-idoc-business-scenarios-with-sap-xi"><b>Mastering IDoc Business Scenarios with SAP XI</b></a>

it described XI adavantages in IDOC scenarios

(many protocols, idoc packages, acknowledgments - generic)

    Regards,

    michal

    Hai,

The goal of Xi is to provide a single pt of integration for all systems,SAP,Non-SAP,inside and outside the corporate boundary.Xi supports B2B, A2A scenarios as well as asynchronous and synchronous msg exchange.

    Cheers,

    Prasanthi.
