Sample Offline Interactive Form

Former Member

Hi there

Does anybody know if there are sample forms available anywhere? I would like to give a demo to our company of interactive forms, so was hoping there was a standard sample out there that I could use.

Obvioulsy it won't be connecting to any particular backend system, but just to show how a form can be worked on offline with predefined values etc. would be of great value.

Cheers,

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

If u have Adobe Live cycle designer 7.0. Then also you can find standard template examples. Those are available with standalone designer as well.

There are tutorials with sample forms here in <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/49f2ea90-0201-0010-ce8e-de18b94aee2d#pdf">SDN</a> (Web Dynpro) under Using Interactive Forms.

Thanks for the link ... looks like there are loads of useful tutorials there.

Only problem I have is they require me to have access to the J2EE server, which I don't have. Will they work if I install teh J2EE server on my machine (if that is even possible)

You can download an evaluation version here in SDN (90 days), just click on Download in the top-level navigation, and download the trial Full Java Edition, which includes the Adobe stuff. Check the requirements there as well. (You should have 2 GB RAM.)

Hello Andrew,

In case you do not want to install any software but just want to see an interactive form, I would propose to download one of the tutorials Markus mentioned (number 30 or 31). These are ZIP files that both contain a file called <b>TravelRequest.pdf</b>. This is a simple but working interactive form example and thus might already be enough for a first demonstration of offline forms...

Thanks for the feedback.

Only problem is the form is not interactive.

If I try to open the form, I get a message saying

"The document contained certain rights to enable special features in Adobe Reader. The document has been changed since it was created and these rights are no longer valid. Please contact the author for the original version of this document".

Is there something other than Adobe Reader that I need on my machine?

Hello Andrew,

It seems that the forms included in these tutorials have been rendered with a test credential that is no longer valid. Thus you would need to install the AS Java (trial version) and deploy the tutorial in order to re-render the form. An alternative would be to use Acrobat (not Reader) for displaying the form, as this tool does not care about the "ReaderRights".
