Hello Kranthi,

Just like we have lock mechanisims in RDBMS we have a lock mechanism in SAP also. It is not in R&3 onlz but in all releases of SAP. SAP lock mechanism ensures data integrity. This means that if one user is trying to change an object then SAP locks that user under is id therebz preventing some one else from editing the same object at the same time. This ensures correct version management and data instegrity.

Also as alreadz suggested by Juan you can use SM12 for lock management purposes.

Please award points for useful answers.

Hi Juan,

It is more accurate to say that it is a SAP infrastructure lock, rather than a database lock which it is not. See http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/f4/71aa036c874c308c1a819f05321137/content.htm.

Best Regards,
