The Cost Component Structure structures the costs of cost objects by grouping Cost Elements to so called cost components such as Material Costs, Packaging, internal Activity and so on.

Assigning Cost Elements to Cost Component Structure

Use

The purpose of this activity is to assign cost elements to the cost components structure.

Procedure

1. Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:

IMG Menu Controlling > Cost Center Accounting > Planning > Allocations > Activity Allocation > Price Calculation > Define Cost Component Structure

Transaction Code OKTZ

2. On the Choose activity screen select Define Cost Component Structure and choose Choose.

3. On the Change View “Cost Component Structure”: Overview screen select the existing cost component structure YB and choose Assignment: Cost Component - Cost Element Interval from the dialog structure.

4. On the Change View “Assignment: Cost Component - Cost Element Interval”: Overview screen choose New Entries.

5. On the New Entries: Overview of Added Entries screen make following entries:

Cost Comp. Str. Charts of Accts. From cost el. To cost elem. Cost component.

6. Save your entries.

Setting Cost Component Structure ‘active’ after change

Use

The purpose of this activity is to activate the cost components structure YB after changes carried out in the previous step.

Procedure

1. Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:

IMG Menu Controlling > Cost Center Accounting > Planning > Allocations > Activity Allocation > Price Calculation > Define Cost Component Structure

Transaction Code OKTZ

2. On the Choose activity screen select Define Cost Component Structure and choose Choose.

3. On the Change View “Cost Component Structure”: Overview screen re-activate the existing cost component structure YB.

4. Save your entry.

Result

Cost elements were assigned.
