RFC connection from On-Premise to Hana Cloud applications?

Hi experts,

I have some question regarding the connectivity of the SAP Hana Cloud Platform. Right now I have some C/C++ application that receives RFC calls from an ABAP system, does some processing and returns some tables back to the ABAP system.

Now, the application is also available in Java and the integration into the SAP Hana Cloud Platform with its capabilities is an option.

My question is: Is there a way to connect the ABAP system via RFC to some application running in Hana Cloud (Java or C/C++)? As per reading the documentary, I only discovered the opposite direction where calls can be made from the Cloud (Java) to some On-Premise ABAP System (via Hana Cloud Connector). From my point of view, it would be beneficial not to change the communication protocol on ABAP side.

If there is no RFC connection available, can you tell me the desired strategy for migrating such applications to Hana Cloud (with respect to connectivity)? In this scenario I assume that some HTTP(S) request with some OData protocal is the only reasonable connectivity option.

Thanks in advance

Christopher
