Connect SAP Offline Help with TREX

Former Member

Hello all,

short question:

Does anybody have a short how-to guide with connecting a TREX Engine (I have 7.0) with the installed SAP Offline Help (HTML).

Well, I know how to connect it but I want to use the integrated search form in the top right inspite of using the TREX Search of help.sap.com

In that way our users stay within the LAN without causing any Firewall traffic

Thanks,

Philipp

Hello,

is this really what you're planning?

In my opinion, there should be an independent search possibility within the offline help - as it has been in the past (was done with verity according to the guides).

Then, you needn't connect to help.sap.com to search the offline help, you could stay internally.

I think this is a general issue. SAP recommends NOT to use help.sap.com as help server - but the only possiblity to do a full text search is available there. I understand - telling customers to use help.sap.com will cause a lot of traffic there - and it would be needed 24x7...

Kind regards,

Carl

Yes,

I want to stay internally with the help of TREX.

But to give the users the look and feel of help.sap.com I want to have the search form in the top right.

Anybody who realized this?

Hi Philipp,

to connect the SAP Documentation (at help.sap.com or your offlien version) to the EP-KM search, which I assume you mean by "search form in the top right", you should integrate it into the KM repository framework as a Web repository. Guides how to create a web repository can be found in the developers guide and regular KM documentation.
