CAL BW 7.50 SP01 on HANA - Implement OSS notes/install Support Packages

L.S.

Unfortunately we bump into issues on our CAL BW 7.50 SP01 on HANA instance. SAP notes seem to be available but we have 2 problems/questions:

- OSS connection not working, error from OSS1: 'Unable to connect to SAPNet message server', 'Connection failed Error: partner '147.204.2.5:3299' not reached. Fri Apr 7 08:50:30 2017 Release 740 Component NI (network interface), version 40 rc = -10, module /net/usr.delivery/SAPGUIForJava_740_REL/bas_740_REL/src/base/ni/nibuf.cpp, line 4513 Detail NiBufIConnect: connection pending after 10000ms System Call connect Error No 36 'Operation now in progress'

How can we fix this? Downloading and uploading notes manually works, but is a huge effort + some notes need prerequisite notes which it cannot download...

- Alternatively, is it possible to install Support Packages on a CAL instance?

Thanks!

Hello Marco

This connectivity must be make available by the HEC Network Team.

Typically every Cloud based Platform doesn't allow the connectivity to your "On Premise World" and I your case either the Address nor the Port is open to connect to SAP OSS.

So you have to modify your Network In/Outbound Rules to allow Port 3299, create or modify the DNS Service in the HEC and potentially create a VPN tunnel to the SAP Network. As I would expect from HEC these settings must be already defined somewhere by default.

On Word to the used Version of SAP BW 7.50: As we have SP07 available for 7.50 there is no sense in the configuration of 7.50 SP01 at all and of course you can apply higher SP's in the HEC environment, but same potential Problem with connecting the CAL System to the Solution Manager on Premise. In this case create the system_<SID>.xml and upload this to the Maintenance Planer.
