Royalty as a resource

Hello,

I have set up a Resource that is a royalty. The client is using a mold for production that is a resource. What happens is that they needs to capture the cost of the mod every time the produce the product.

Here are the issues that we are running into.

We scrapped 300 on issue for production number 3153 and it still allocated royalties. Which is not correct. We should not pay royalties on them if we scrap them

Is there any way to allocate the royalties once they are sold not made?

SIncerely,

Chris Sorensen

Hi Chris,

We handle license fees (similar principle I think), by adding a none inventory item to the BOM of an item.

That way, the license fee becomes part of the item cost. We do not have to separately purchase it, but we can follow the total cost of license fees, because the "license fee" item is sold and credited normally during the sales process.

Hi Johan,

This definitely go us closer to the intended. Are you adding the item to a sales order or do you add it to a Production BOM? The non inventory item worked except when they are attempting to Scrap the item if there is a defect.

Sincerely,

Hi Chris,

We use it in a BOM. I don't know if we have have ever had to disassemble such a BOM item, so unfortunately I can't say if that should work or how.

HI Johan,

Thank you for your help on this issue. I'll keep digging into the scrap issue.
