Sapconnect - Groupware connect

Hi,

We want to integrate mail and fax between SAP CRM 4.0 and MS Exchange (last version). I´ve downloaded diferent documents about SAPconnect and Groupware integration but still I don´t know if it´s necessary to configue both of them or only the Groupware element.

Could you explain me this two components operation?
