Are Special characters allowed in BI Service Account Password?

Installation of BO 4.1 SP5 and Windows AD SSO working successfully since last one year.

Now, for the purpose of security policy, they want to change the password of BI service account and make it complex. They might use Special characters in it like %, $, (, ^ etc. Current password does not contain special characters.

Would that password with special characters work fine while generating krb5.ini file or executing kinit command or bosso.keytab file??

Do we have any sap note or any article which specifies that password should not contain any special characters or how to do above tasks if password contain special characters?

Please help!!!

Anything AD allows should be ok with BI, although some of the oler client tools have a character limit of 32 I think...

Just make sure to address the changed password wherever it was set

• CMC > Authentication > Windows AD
• Account running the SIA
• and in the properties files, java options or keytab
