How to delete overlapping reqeust of infopackage in InfoCube using BI 7.0

Hi Everyone.

How to delete overlapping reqeust of infopackage in InfoCube using BI 7.0 datasource ??

In case of BW 3.X datasource, it is possible to delete overlapping request of infopacke in InfoCube.

In Data Targets tab of InfoPackage, Deleting Request from InfoCube after Update can be set.

But in case of BI 7.0 datasource, it is not.

Is it imposible? I want to use BI 7.0 datasource.

I have to convert to BW3.x datasourc?

Help me.

r u talking abt the option "deleting entire content"? if yes, u can use process variant "Complete Deletion of Data Target Contents " in your process chain to do so.

I'm talking about only one overlapping request in cube. it's not entire content in cube.

"Delete Overlappling Reqeusts form InfoCbue" in porocess chain can be used InfoPackge or DTP.

In case of InfoPackage, DataSource of 3.x version work very well. But datasource of 7.0 version doesn't wokt to delete overlapping request in InfoCube.

I want to delete overappling reqeust in InfoCube Using BI 7.0's datasource.

Go for selective deletion if you are sure about your selections..that are overlapping..

If you have modelled using 3.x dataflow concept and then migrated might want to check this.

Dear Manga,

"selective deletion" shoud be executed manually.

I want to deletion automatically like "Automatic Loading of Similar/Identical Requests from the InfoCube" option in 'Data Target' tab of InfoPackage.

I can use above option only in case of BW 3.x datasource not 7.0 datasource.

Pls help me

Hello,

We too had the same requirement. It is very straight forward on Bw 3.X. But roundabout way in NW2004S BI.

Pls proceed as follows.

1. In the infopackage use selection conditions to extract the data

2. Use the same conditions as filter in DTP.

3. After running the DTP,you can see the filtered conditions in manage tab of infocube.

4. Create a process chain. Use process type : Delete overlapping requests from Infocube.

using this process type, you can set the conditions for deletion.

In NW2004s BI, we have to use process chain to automate the deletion of overlapping rwquest in infocube.

Hope this is clear.

PS : If you do not use any filter on DTP, this process type will delete all requests from infocube, since there won't be any selection conditions in IC.

Hi

I have had the same problem as of support pack SAPKW70011.

I received the following vague reply from SAP OSS.

<i><b>According to our developer, please note:

It is not supported to use the 'overlapping deletion process' with

DTP-Requests. It will not work and is not nessessary anymore.</b></i>

Is anyone using this functionality? It seems hard to believe that this is no longer supported expecially where extractors are not delta enabled, unless off course it is now neccessary to build an ODS layer.

I would be interested to hear your thoughts.
