Hi all,
We have a scenario where we need to convert a customized MAM application in japanese i.e. the client UI should be in japanese. Can anyone please tell me for this scenario what are all the prerequisites as well as activities that we need to carry out on client, Middleware and Backend?
Thanks in advance.
hello saptak,
i think the MAM client app does support Japanese language
with its UI text being saved in MAMText_laptop_ja.properties
file. perhaps you can try logging into the MI client with
your MAM application, selecting the JA language during
logon.
on the MW & Backend, you should have a UNICODE system that
support data in double byte. for the backend part, better
to consult with the local consultant (BASIS and MAM).
hope this help.
regards
jo

hello saptak,
i haven't had implemented MAM on the middleware/backend
side. on the MI server, the standard procedures for defining
the SyncBos and so on applies. but for the backend, BAPI
and logics, you might need the help from an MM(?) specialist...
for MAM, you can get the implementation from the SDN and/or
SMP. you can take a look at the <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/developerareas/mi?rid=/library/uuid/e03971eb-0401-0010-ee87-962b61749df1">sap Mobile Apps FAQ</a> on MAM section.

Hi,
For the above Questions, Smart sync provides one featurecalled multilanguage feature.
So our application should support this feature.
Client doesnot know any this about this feature (means no implementations needed from client part)
Middleware (while designing Syncbos we need to implement Multi language)
Backend(Our tables, bapi wrappers should be changed accordingly)
So when we login the client in Japanese we get data in japanese.
If we login german, we get data in German only
Thus Smart sync supports multi language
Thanks,
Karthick
