"BExOpenSaveServices - GetNodes: RFC Exception" in Query Designer

Hi!

All of a sudden, when I want to create a new Query in Query Designer and click on "New" and on the "InfoAreas" button on the left in the "New Query: Select InfoProvider" dialog box the systems does not come back with any InfoArea. Instead it shows "Reading Data" but never end it's read.

When I click on "Find" on the left panel, I can reach the find dialog, yet whatever I put in the search field, the system will hang and only show the sandglass until after some minutes the following error appears:

"Terminate: Unexpected Error: BExOpenSaveServices - GetNodes: RFC Exception"

Yet if I select "Find" before trying to find a InfoProvider via "InfoAreas", it works andIcan select whatever IP a want.

Anyone has an idea how to solve this problem?

Full points will be assigned.

Thanks,

German

To solve the problem, I installed all front end patches an GUI, BW and BI but nothing works. The described effect and error even is the same no matter which patchlevel I had installed.

Also it makes no difference whether I use QD from BI- or BW-Addon (QD from NW2004s based on .NET or classical QD from BW 3.5). Also after installing the SAPGUI on an extra Virtual Machine, I was not able to create any new query.

It is possible to LOAD queries via InfoAreas and via Find option. It is possible to SAVE such queries also. Yet only, the OPEN Dialog via InfoAreas does not work.

In ABAP SAPGUI I can work with the system including InfoAreas without any problems.

The System is NW2004s SPS 9, no SAP notes and worked properly so far. To my knowledged nothing changed to the backend or frontend system before QD stopped working. I also checked that there a no tables locked.
