SAPinst: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist

Hello!

I am trying to install R/3 Enterprise 4.7 WAS 620, Oracle, on Win 2003. While installing database instance, in phase <i>Oracle Post-Load Actions</i> I am getting error <i>ORA-00942: table or view does not exist</i> in SAPinst. The log file DDICORA.LOG contains many entries like:

UPDATE SAPS13.taora SET TABSPACE = 'PSAPS13' WHERE TABART = 'APPL0'
              *
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist

... and so on, the same thing for all SQL statements in this log. What is wrong with my installation?

Thanks for all inputs!

Regards,

Igor

Hi, Prince!

Thanks! This note was helpful in a way that I've found how to check does table really exist. I tried with

desc SAPS13.taora

in SQL Plus and it said that there is no such object. I tried it also on other running system with success.

It appears that tables really don't exist. Could it be some database load problem? I don't know how to proceed.

Igor

Hi!

It was the SAPinst that messed up. I deleted its folder, reinstalled it and now it works fine. This NEWINST.CMD thing with packing installation logs into separate folders never worked anyway. What a nightmare! This mess eat days of my life and got me a few more gray hairs.
