FTP-Sender: encoding german umlauts failed

Hi

we have PI 700/SPS6.

Now we try to read in a flat file from FTP with german "umlauts" and we get wrong chars.

In the ftp-sender communication channel we defined all combinations: BINARY or TEXT; TEXT with UTF-8, ISO-..

... but we had no success.

Thank you all!

Regards

Wolfgang

Hi,

Normally by making a change inthe encoding in the File adapter to ISO-8859-1 does the trick.

Can you try the same without content conversion and ISO-8859-1 and see if it works?

Hi,

we have no content conversion in our comm.-channel and ISO-8859-1 does not work

Is it possible that we have to make some configurations in the J2EE engine (java parameter or like this)?

Hi Wolfgang,

Could you copy paste to the forum the content of the file that you're trying to read and also what you get in XI.

Thanks,

Bela

Hi,

As Bhavesh said ISO-8859-1 will be used. I remember facing simillar problem with German umlauts but I used BINARY and it worked for me. Can you post the content and excatly what is the error that you are getting? Are u getting it while mapping?
